My Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my Giving Page. I am taking on this challenge with my sister Rachael and a team of my work colleagues from Specsavers to raise vital funds for “cancer research” and “vision care for homeless people” We are attempting to complete the 49 mile walk circling our city within 24 hours. . We are sharing any funds raised between Vision Care for Homeless People (VCHP) and Cancer Research UK. We ask where possible our generous supporters are able to split their support between the 2 causes. By supporting Cancer Research we hope to support their cause of bringing about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer. This is a cause close to mine and Rachael’s hearts, as last year we lost our beloved Mum Jan Lee to cancer. We will all be taking on this challenge and walking it in memory of her. We miss her dearly. So many people are affected by cancer, whether it be loosing someone, supporting loved ones through cancer, or even going through treatment themselves. So what ever we can do to help raise vital funds for research into new treatments for cancer we will. As a team of healthcare providers we believe everyone should have access to eyecare. 80% of homeless people need glasses to see properly, to look for work, find accommodation or simply to keep themselves safe.
