My Story
6 Years ago we lost a friend and fellow Scout Leader to Cancer, It was a bit of a shock to say the least. He hadn't planned on giving up just yet and was always talking about the next treatment and how he was going to get better. 5 years ago we lost Mum to Cancer, that was a bit of a shock too. We miss her a lot. She was our oracle, a few weeks ago I realised that when your personal oracle dies, you have to take over being the oracle for your children! Scary, but I'm trying. 4 years ago we lost another dear friend to cancer, he left his wife and 2 young children. His family are amazing, they have coped brilliantly. The children are little stars shining so bright. He would be very proud of them. Those are the sad stories. We have also friends who have recovered and are living life to the full. By donating you will be helping create more happy stories and helping cancer research beat cancer.

CAUSE
Lung cancer
Each year more than 43,500 people are diagnosed with lung cancer in the UK. We urgently need to drive progress so that more people survive their disease. Cancer Research UK is at the forefront in lung cancer research and is funding various projects to tackle the disease head on. This includes the TRACERx study, Cancer Research UK’s largest investment into lung cancer to date. This study has already transformed our understanding of how lung cancer evolves and is continuing to shed light on how to prevent, detect and treat the disease.
