My Story
Over a year ago our family lost an irreplaceable member due to cancer. This woman was an inspiration to me and her beauty and strength will continue to inspire me to help others. We will always feel an emptiness at family gatherings and miss the incredible woman who was taken from us too soon but we can't change the past, we just need to build a future together as a family which celebrates her life and remembers all the amazing moments we shared together. I'm taking part in race for life this year for my Auntie Wendy. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, this needs to stop. We may not be able to change the past and have her with us, but hopefully donations to fund cancer research will stop another family experiencing our pain. Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
