Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 10k to raise money and save lives. Recently, my family has been affected by cancer, as my Oma has recently been given the all clear from lung cancer, and I would like to raise money so that other people may also get such good news in future. Also, since becoming a mother I have realised I need to care for my health better, and so I'm getting back into running after not doing very much at all since finding out we were expecting. Having a goal of this 10k will hopefully help me to get out and stay committed to running again. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
