For those who are still with us, and those who aren't.
In memory of
John Heavyside
19th Nov 1980 - 3rd Mar 2009
Cancer has had such a major impact on my life. It has killed and affected too many people I love the most. My brother died when I was 19 from an incurable brain tumour. This happening had such a major effect on my life. I experienced anxiety and depression like I didn't know possible. With the help of my now wonderful wife, I was able to motivate myself to do better not just for me, but for John too. Unfortunately, someone we both love very much has been diagnosed with this awful disease. I'm not the fittest person but I hope to be able to jog the whole 5k which is something which I wouldn't have even put as an option a couple of months ago. I want to shock John and show him what I'm capable and hope that he would be proud of me. All money I raise will be in John's name. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure.
