For reasons I can't really remember (but definitely involving a few too many, a persuasive colleague & a healthy dose of turning-30-life-panic) I've signed up to Stand Up to Cancer's Ultra White Collar Boxing. Along with 30 colleagues I'll be put through my paces for 8 weeks, & taught the basics of boxing, before being paired off & going 3 rounds in front of a 600 strong crowd on October 19th. Nicola Adams I am not, (I'm a crier, not a fighter) so the whole thing fills me with dread, but it's for an excellent cause, & your support will definitely spur me on. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. But this is the critical moment for cancer research. Advances in science have put cures within our grasp.
