My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 10k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. In July 2018 my mum was diagnosed with Lung cancer, our worlds fell apart but she was told there were a few options and routes to go down. My mum decided to have surgery to remove the mass, she also had COPD and her lungs were already weak. After routine appointments and a pre operative examination they decided to go ahead with surgery to remove the cancer, once out of surgery she seemed to be coping well, but within one week her body deteriorated and she caught pneumonia and passed away in the arms of her two daughters, husband and the rest of her family. If Our Mum Hadn’t of caught cancer, she would be here right now with us, she loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was an amazing person, always helping others. I would like to raise money for a very special charity close to my heart and help others who have experienced what I have.
