Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon 2017
Sun 8 Oct 2017
2016 was a bitter sweet year. After moving house, getting married and then my wife falling pregnant in quick succession, the year was going perfectly. Unfortunately in August I began to feel ill and was diagnosed with throat & tonsil cancer. Following months of surgery, chemotherapy and then chemo-radiotherapy, I completed my treatment in January. Things were tough to say the least, but it was all worth it in the end. I was given the "all clear" in April, just 3 weeks after the birth of our gorgeous baby girl, Ivy. I'm one of the lucky ones who got through this, but there's so many people out there less fortunate than me who don't. Most of us sadly know someone who has been affected by cancer, so do everyone a favour and donate to my page today. I've got 4 months now to train for this and am essentially starting from scratch, following an obviously prolonged period of doing absolutely nothing. Some of my friends have opted to help me do this and run the London Parks together, so feel free to sponsor them as well. Our team page is linked to this and they'll be adding their pages there. Please spare a few quid and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
