Alan's Race for Life
Ipswich 5k 2019
Sun 23 Jun 2019 - Sun 23 Jun 2019
A year ago my grandad was diagnosed with Cancer, beforehand I had never personally known anyone who had recieved this diagnosis. The news was heartbreaking, thankfully after many tests his final diagnosis was not as bad as the inital diagnosis we recieved. His journey thorugh treatment wasnt necessarily the smoothest, multiple courses of chemo and a few surgeries, but due to an incredible level of care from Ipswich, Colchester and Adenbrookes hospital I am delighted to say that we recieved the fantastic news that he is Cancer free. Almost exactly a year to the day from inital diagnosis. Myself, my brother and my mum will be running, dragging ourselves around in all honesty. The Ipswich race for life this year. I never realised what a devistating effect Cancer has not only on the individual diagnosed but also on their loved ones and families. Any money we raise can help progress treatment and potentially save a life. Thankyou for taking the time to read this, if you choose to donate or not.
