My Story
My best friend, Alistair (Ali) MacLeod died from cancer in September 2021. He was aged just 45. He left behind a wife and two children. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 10k to raise money and save lives. I'll be 54 when this event takes place, so I am aiming to complete the 10km in less than 54 minutes. Please, and I mean this - only donate the minimum £2 if you sponsor me. I have over 1,000 followers on Twitter, and I'd rather they and everyone else all give £2 than a few give £10 or more. I want them all to feel they are making a difference, and not to feel that their donation will look too small next to someone else's. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
