I'm running the London Marathon for Cancer Research UK to beat cancer sooner
Cancer has affected too many of my family, friends and colleagues. 2020 really brought this home to me when both my parents were diagnosed with cancer. Fortunately my parents have access to excellent treatments and care. Many of the improvements have been made possible by scientists funded by Cancer Research UK. My aim is to raise £5000 to help their work. 2021 is the year that both of my parents like many thousands of others will have to battle through treatment. The least this overweight 50 year old can do to show support is to cut out the beer, get off his backside and go for a jog through London - how hard can it be? Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
