I'm running the London Marathon for Cancer Research UK to beat cancer sooner
My Story
Cancer has affected too many of my family, friends and colleagues. 2020 really brought this home to me when both my parents were diagnosed with cancer. Fortunately my parents have access to excellent treatments and care. Many of the improvements have been made possible by scientists funded by Cancer Research UK. My aim is to raise £5000 to help their work. 2021 is the year that both of my parents like many thousands of others will have to battle through treatment. The least this overweight 50 year old can do to show support is to cut out the beer, get off his backside and go for a jog through London - how hard can it be? Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
