My Story
Nearly 5 years ago now, on the 19th April 2017 we received the devastating news that my beautiful Mum had Cancer. 6 days later she was gone from our lives. No one can prepare you for the devastating affects this terrible disease has on the patient and their loved ones. Which is why, whilst I’m running in my first ever 1/2 marathon event I’d like to be running knowing I’m raising money so that Cancer Research can continue their brilliant work. I first signed up for the half marathon in 2019 and then COVID hit and it kept getting postponed. So after what feels like an endless amount of training I will finally be running in my first ever half marathon on Sunday 27th March in Cardiff. I am so nervous but also incredibly motivated and what will make me run that bit better will be the knowledge that I am raising as much money as possible so that Cancer Research can keep doing their wonderful work to help beat Cancer. Nothing can bring my dear Mum back to us but I’d like to think I can do whatever I can to help save lives of others. Cancer is happening right now, 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
