Shine Night Walk Cambridge 10k 2022

My Story
On the 15th October I’m doing the Cancer Research Shine Night Walk in Cambridge. It’s a 10km walk to raise awareness for early detection of cancer through. I’m doing the walk with Roisin, Mum and her wonderful Haematology Oncology work friends. Last Christmas mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. The cancer was originally missed in her mammogram as her lump was slightly higher than of mammogram field. Thank goodness mum was persistent and now on the road to recovery. I want to urge everyone to keep checking for lumps or changes, and if anything feels different please get it checked out. If it wasn’t for mums persistent, she would have been sent away and wouldn’t have been seen for another three years till her next recommended mammogram. I look forward to celebrating mums strength but also her fantastic team at work, who were nothing but supportive, caring and loving throughout the whole process 🤍✨ 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s ground breaking work. Donate to my Giving Page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured 🫶✨
