Raising money for testicular cancer

My Story

Please help me raise money for a charity that has helped me massively in recent years. I've been reasonably quiet about this and haven't posted anything on social media, so to some this may come as a surprise. Most of you may have seen my chickpea looking head in photos and put two and two together but in early 2020 I was diagnosed with stage 4 testicular cancer. I discovered a lump towards the end of 2019 and by the time I was officially diagnosed, the cancer had spread to my lymph nodes, abdomen, chest and lungs and I needed life saving treatment. After having my affected testicle removed earlier that year, on 21st March 2020, only days before my wedding anniversary and just as the country went into its first lockdown, I headed to St. Bartholomew's Hospital for what would be over 225hrs of Chemotherapy, that would ultimately save my life. It was thanks to the great work of cancer research and the NHS that I still have a life to live and can grow old with my beautiful wife and watch our children grow. Throughout my journey we had some great help from friends and family and now I am out the other side, a year on from my treatment and 'the all clear' confirmed, I would like to raise some money to help cancer research continue their great work and give another person the same chances I had. I've got three weeks to go, I haven't done any running and I hate to admit it but I'm not in the best shape I've ever been, so I can guarantee the marathon wont be in record breaking time or done with any grace.. BUT, I know I have the will power and determination to get through it, so please dig deep and make it worthwhile!! I appreciate every single donation. It would mean everything to me and my family. Thank you. Ad x
