My Story
A few years ago, I was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer. Fortunately, it was caught early and dealt with quickly through surgery, without the need for chemotherapy. Unfortunately, it came back, and in May this year I found out that there was a cancerous growth in my abdomen which would require three cycles of chemo. That's all over now, but the side effects linger. Nevertheless, I'm still aiming to complete the Robin Hood Half Marathon, in spite of losing nearly three months training and not having long to prepare. It's my hometown race, I've completed either the half or the full (when it existed) every non-COVID year since 2014, and I'm too stubborn and love it too much to miss out this year. How much of it I'll run and how much I'll walk I have no idea, but I'm getting round any way I can.
