Story

Pancreatic cancer, Bowel cancer and Lymphoma have touched my family in the past couple of years. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I’m raising money right now for Cancer Research UK. There’s no time to lose!

I haven't been a very active person over the last few years. I used to run back in the early years of the century, but knee problems stopped me doing that. I've recently started running short distances to see if proper training and proper form will stave off those problems.

I had originally planned to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon in March 2019, but I developed Kidney stones which put a stop to my training and running. Not wanting to let my donors down; I'm going to be running the Richmond Marathon in September instead.

Yes, I'm also doing this to stay motivated, but also to feel like I am doing something to fight this terrible disease.

Donate to my page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.

I was on Texel island, in the Netherlands, for a couple of days for a conference. Such a treat to be able to run on the flat in beautiful surroundings.

My training has become more regular. I logged 55km in June. It's probably still not enough, but if I increase it sensibly I should be able to make it around. I'm more worried about making it within the cut off time.

It's been a while but I should post an update: I was unable to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon because I developed a Kidney stone. Instead, I'm going to run the Richmond RunFest Half Marathon on September 15. So I'm still running, and still soliciting donations.
