My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5K and the Shine Night Walk (Half Marathon) to raise money and save lives. My Race for Life is on 5th of September and my half marathon is on 25th September. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s ground breaking work. Donate to my Giving Page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Cancer is a dreadful disease and needs to be beaten. My family amongst many many others have been affected by Cancer and I am determined to raise as much money, and awareness, as I possibly can to help this charity find a cure for all cancers. My Dad lost his battle in June, 2008. He was taken by Mesothelioma Cancer, a rare, incurable type of cancer that develops in the lining that covers the outer surface of some of the body's organs. It's usually linked to asbestos exposure. There are around 2,700 new mesothelioma cases in the UK every year, that's more than 7 every day. I want to raise awareness of this type of Cancer. As well as this, my lovely Grandad passed away nearly a month ago to Lung Cancer. Since then, life’s been a bit of a blur and I don’t think it’ll ever sink in that he’s gone. Cancer Research, along with the Hospice in the Weald, and lots of other charities/companies have been a tremendous help to my family. Grandad spent his final days in the Hospice and I seriously cannot ever thank them enough for what they did for Grandad. Please please please take a look at this fundraising page, and my other page for the Half Marathon, and share them around on social media. Any size donation is appreciated. I’ve got enormous fight in me and I am determined to make a difference. Let’s do this!
