My Story
On 14th December 2020, at the age of 52, I was diagnosed with Stage Three colorectal (bowel) cancer, during the height of the Covid pandemic. After undergoing treatment which included combined radiotherapy and chemotherapy, low anterior resection surgery and a further twelve-week course of chemo, I’m now thankfully in remission. I had a stoma for a year after surgery and this was reversed in June 2022. I owe my life to my medical team, to the NHS, my loved ones and friends who supported me. Without them all I would not be here to share my story with you! My Just Giving page is here to raise monies for Cancer Research UK to help them discover the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer. All donations through this page, large or small go directly to CRUK to help with their research and are 100% appreciated! Sharing my Just Giving page also helps the cause! I lost two beautiful friends and my dear cousin to cancer over the last few years so I know first hand the devastation, sorrow and pain that cancer causes.
