My Story
Abbotts Ann School is delighted to be hosting our third ‘Race for Life’ event on Tuesday 17th July at 2.15pm at the school. Parents and siblings are invited to attend and watch as the children take part in a fully supervised 1km lap of the school grounds. We will be raising money for Cancer Research UK and remembering our friend, parent and former Chair of the PTA, Nicki Wallis. Nicki fought an incredibly brave battle with a rare and aggressive form of cancer, but tragically died in September 2015 at the age of 33. In July 2015, Nicki led a team of friends, colleagues, school teachers and children in the Salisbury Race for Life event, despite being seriously ill at the time, and raised £10,000 for Cancer Research UK. To remember Nicki by holding our own Race for Life event seemed a fitting tribute, reflecting her positivity, courage and perseverance, and her enthusiasm for life. Over the last two years we have raised just over £2000 - please help us have another successful year for this fantastic cause. Cancer is happening right now, which is why we're taking part in a Race for Life Schools to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor us now. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure.
