Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 10k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. I am a student nurse and have had one of my placements on a gynecology ward where I have met and cared for many lovely women who are suffering from and fighting cancer and are receiving treatment to try and beat it. Sadly my dear grandad lost his battle to cancer many years ago, this is for him and all of those strong women I have met.

Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
