My Story
Most of us have been affected by cancer at some point. Some of us are lucky; our loved ones are still here. But so many have been taken from us, despite courageous and determined battles. Katie and I will be taking on this marathon to raise money to increase the numbers of people who beat cancer, to reduce the negative impact, to stand up and say that 26 and a bit miles are hard but every step is worth it if someone is spared. For my Dad, for Claire, for Sheila, for everyone who fought and won or went down fighting - for my girls, for my students, for everyone I love. Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
