Fifina Gailey Alburquerque falleció tranquilamente, el 22 octubre 2016, tras vivir varios años valientemente con cáncer, rodeada de su querido marido Desmond, sus hijos Helen y Paul. Ella iluminaba el aire al su alrededor con vitalidad y efervescencia, y será echada de menos por sus cinco nietos, su gran familia en España, sus ex-estudiantes, sus amigas de clases de baile y pintura, y todos aquellos que tuvieron el placer de conocerla. Era la alegría de la familia. Conocida como Lala por sus nietos, no quería flores, sino que cada donación fuese para avanzar la ayuda en el tratamiento de cáncer. She was one who lit up the air around her with vitality and effervescence and will be greatly missed by her five grandchildren, her large family in Spain, her ex-students, her painting and dancing friends, and all those who had the joy of meeting her. She was the alegria of the family. Lala, as she was known to her grandchildren, did not want flowers but wished that all tributes be given to help cure cancer.
