My Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. What is an “80-Hymnathon”? Last year my beloved wife, Deirdre, died of cancer after a short illness. I have been an organist for sixty-five years and on Sunday, 19th September, I will be playing 80 hymns to raise money for cancer research and also to celebrate my 80th birthday which was in January this year. Venue: Ringwood Parish Church Time: 2:00 p.m. to about 6:00 p.m. After a short break, at 4:00 p.m., a small group of singers will sing some arrangements of the hymns, accompanied by the organ. Should you wish to be present to give support and listen at any time during the afternoon, tea, coffee and cake will be on sale. According to statistics, 1 in 2 people will develop some sort of cancer in the UK, so please support me in making a donation to help bring an end to this invasive disease.

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
