8-George
**Please note - this is the page for Mr George's Year 8 Tutor Group** In 2023, I will join a group of my friends to spend 10 days climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Why am I doing this....? My best friend's daughter is currently battling cancer. Despite pioneering surgery in 2020, she is still not out of the woods, and her battle with cancer continues every day. This is her story.... https://www.sthelensstar.co.uk/news/19171344.st-helens-schoolgirl-battling-tumour-hopeful/ I have seen, first-hand, the impact of this disease on families, and I want to use my climb of Kilimanjaro as an opportunity to raise money for Cancer Research. During the week of 6th December, Year 7s and 8s will be taking part in a fun run at school. They will compete as a Tutor Group, with the aim of running as many laps of the site as they can in 30mins. This is about 1km, so not easy!! - For the tutor group who completes the most laps, I will provide a 'Pizza Party' lunch on Thursday 16th December - For the tutor group who raises the most money, I will provide a 'Pizza Party' lunch on Thursday 16th December The aim is for each tutor group to raise £200; this is about £8 per student, and all money raised will go to this brilliant cause. If you can make a small contribution, it would be hugely appreciated. Thank you for reading, and thank you in advance for your support.
