My Story
30X is the latest fundraising initiative from the Board of Business Beats Cancer, where we challenge individuals and groups from companies in NI to participate in 30 minutes’ activity each day throughout June 2023. It’s called 30 X as we’re hoping that at least 30 companies will sign up and help us raise at least £30k to support the work of CRUK in Northern Ireland. There are several ways to take part in 30X: Walking to and from work/your bus stop or train station every day. 15 minutes each way adds up to 30! Job done! Spread the load and ask everyone in your team to choose a day to do their 30 minutes activity. The bigger the team, the lighter the burden. Organise a Boxercise class in your workplace. YouTube has plenty of great 30 minute workouts. Flying solo? Variety is the spice of life so mix it up over the thirty days of June; walking, running, fitness classes, gardening, cycling and swimming are all great ways to get active. And yes, running up and down the sidelines at an u-10s match while shouting encouragement, counts too! What’s next? Send an email to julie.sherlockcommspr@gmail.com to register your interest. We’ll send you a fundraising link and a banner for your company’s/colleagues social media profiles that says you’re taking part in 30X. Ask friends, families and colleagues for sponsorship. Then get active for the 30 days of June. Share your pics and updates with us via email to julie.sherlockcommspr@gmail.com or by tagging us on Twitter or LinkedIN. All funds raised stay in Northern Ireland to support the work of the CRUK research team at the Patrick G Johnston Centre in Belfast. It’s great to have a target as motivation of course but the important thing is that everyone has fun and enjoys a little bit of healthy competition.
