My Story
I am incredibly proud to be running the London Marathon for Cancer Research UK, but I wish with all my heart that the reason behind it was different. In 2022, my beautiful mum, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Despite facing every challenge with incredible courage, strength and determination, the cancer spread, and after the bravest fight, we tragically lost her in July 2026 at just 56 years old. Watching someone you love battle cancer is something I wouldn't wish on anyone. Through every treatment, every setback and every difficult day, Mum never stopped fighting. She showed a strength that inspired everyone around her, and I will forever be proud to call her my mum. When I was offered a place in the London Marathon, nobody was more excited than Mum. She couldn't wait to watch me run, cheering me on from the sidelines and celebrating every mile with me. It breaks my heart that she won't be there waiting for me at the finish line, but I know she'll be with me every step of the way. This marathon is no longer just a personal challenge. It is my way of honouring Mum's memory, celebrating the incredible woman she was, and helping Cancer Research UK continue the vital work that gives families hope for the future. When the miles become difficult, I'll think of Mum and the courage she showed every single day. Compared with everything she endured, 26.2 miles is nothing. Every step I take will be for her. If you're able to support me with a donation, no matter how big or small, I would be so grateful. Every contribution helps Cancer Research UK fund life-saving research, develop better treatments and bring hope to families facing this devastating disease. Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity and support. It truly means the world to me and my family. For you, Mum
