My Story

In 2027, I’ll be taking on the biggest challenge of my life—running the London Marathon for Cancer Research UK. I’m running in memory of my grandad, who passed away from lung cancer on 16 April 2017. He wasn’t just my grandad; he was my father figure, my role model and one of the most important people in my life. Losing him changed me forever. Watching someone so strong battle cancer, and seeing the impact it had on our entire family, is something I’ll never forget. Although it’s been several years since we lost him, the pain never truly goes away. Every milestone reminds me how much I wish he was still here to share it. Running the London Marathon is my way of honouring his memory while supporting the incredible work Cancer Research UK does to improve treatments, save lives and bring hope to families facing cancer. This will be my first marathon, and I know it will be one of the toughest physical and mental challenges I’ve ever taken on. Whenever training gets difficult, I’ll think about what my grandad went through, and that will remind me why every mile matters. Cancer affects so many families, including mine. Every donation, no matter the size, helps fund vital research that gives more people the chance to survive cancer and spend more precious time with the people they love. As a family, we’ve previously raised around £300 for Cancer Research UK in my grandad’s memory. My goal now is to raise £4,000 as I take on this incredible challenge. I’ll be sharing my training journey, fundraising along the way and doing everything I can to make a difference. If you’re able to support me, I’d be hugely grateful. Every donation will help Cancer Research UK continue its life-saving work, and every message of encouragement will help keep me going through the months of training and on marathon day. Thank you so much for your support. It means more than you know.
