My Story
Race for Life is our flagship event series which started back in 1994 down in Battersea. Over the years that have followed thousands of women (and now men) have taken part running, skipping, jogging or walking to celebrate and remember loved ones who have had a cancer journey whilst raising vital funds for our research. As you will be aware, we haven’t been able to host a single Race for Life this year and the team in Volunteer Fundraising are coming together to take part and support colleagues in the events team by taking part in a ‘Very Race for Life 2020’ and trying to raise a bit of money along the way too…. Because of COVID-19 CRUK could be forced to cut £150 per year from their research funding. They have received no compensation or support from the government. Along with many fundraisers we've been unable to take part in regular fundraising events. My 2020 running challenge has had to be postponed as the half marathons I was due to run have been cancelled. Although times are very difficult for many people, if you can please make any donation of whatever size every pound counts and will support CRUK's world class, life saving research Thanks so much for supporting us help continue the fight against cancer and give more people more tomorrows….
