My Story
My daughter Rosie, 14, decided that she was missing swimming too much and wanted to do something to keep up her fitness and at the same time raise money for a charity. She has therefore decided that from 1st June for the whole month, each week she will do a mini triathlon of 3 mile run, 15 mile bike ride and half mile swim (each Wednesday) and she will also do 2 duathlons of a 15 mile bike ride and a half mile swim (each Monday and Friday) to raise money for Cancer Research UK. We have managed to purchase a 12ft pool especially for her to complete this challenge. The reason she chose this charity is because we have personal experience as a family of cancer. Rosie's Nan has recently had some skin cancer removed from her face and all of her Nan's siblings have suffered from some form of cancer; some of which are no longer with us. She also has second cousins which have battled (and lost) and are currently battling cancer. More recently, a great uncle has been diagnosed. Please therefore help us to reach our goal and hopefully one day we will find a cure for cancer. Thank you for visiting my Fundraising Page. The money we raise will help fund life-saving research and to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
