My Story
I'm Guido — a lawyer by profession, a runner by passion. Running taught me something the courtroom never could: that the hardest battles aren't won with arguments, but with endurance. You don't beat the wall at kilometre 35 with logic. You beat it with stubbornness, with heart, and with the thought of everyone who can't run today because cancer took that from them. Cancer doesn't discriminate. It doesn't care about your age, your job, or how fast you can run a 10K. I've seen it take people who had everything ahead of them — colleagues, friends, family members — and I've watched the people around them fight with a courage that puts any marathon to shame. I run with Onda Verde Running Club in Milan, Italy. I've raced 10Ks, half marathons, and every training session at dawn when the rest of the city is still sleeping. But London is different. London is 42.195 kilometres with a purpose bigger than a personal best. I'm running the London Marathon 2027 because I believe research is the finish line that actually matters. Every pound raised brings us closer to treatments that work, diagnoses that come earlier, and lives that last longer. My goal isn't just to cross the finish line — it's to help ensure that fewer families have to hear the words "there's nothing more we can do." You don't have to run 26.2 miles to make a difference. A donation, a share, a word of encouragement — it all counts. Together, we run further.

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
