My Story

In January 2017 my Dad had visited the Doctors after losing a drastic amount of weight in a very short time. After two months of testing, he was diagnosed with lung and liver cancer stage 4. This cruel disease had obviously been ravaging his body unbeknown to us for a long time. Although me and my family knew the disease was terminal, we didn’t know his time with us would be so short. Three months after being diagnosed he passed away on the 10th of July with his family by his side. He left behind myself, my younger sister and my Mom, his wife of twenty five years. Not forgetting his favourite member of the family, our black labrador, Chips, who untill he became ill he would walk three times a day. Despite what my Dad must have been going through he still kept up his witty humour despite spending 95% of his time in the hospital bed we had set up in our living room. His sad passing devastated our family so i would like to raise as much money for Cancer Research as possible for their fight against this terrible disease. Since this disease has affected us, we’ve come to realise how many others are affected by cancer. To raise money for Cancer Research i have decided to brave the shave, and shave off my hair which ive been growing for two years. I also hope to donate the hair I lose to a charity that makes wigs for cancer patients.
